Simply put, this place has the best coffee in Downingtown. Particularly their batch brew. Every time I drink a black cup, it’s full of flavor and doesn’t taste like it’s been sitting in an urn for hours. Batch brews like this are hard to come by. This place has it, and is my go to for a cup of coffee in Dtown.

When I have showings over an hour away, I aim to get there much earlier, just in case of traffic. In this case, my GPS was correct and had plenty of time, so I found a local cafe to try out. The Farmhouse Coffee & Espresso Bar has the cutest curb appeal in Downtown Downingtown. And the aesthetics just get better inside. This is a busy place! It’s very large and has lots of seating. Patrons varied from those like myself getting some work done as well as families enjoying some breakfast. And, of course, lots of people were coming in for to-go orders. They have a system that luckily I was in line long enough to observe. There was plenty of staff that obviously had their role in the system. Very efficient! Now let’s get to the good stuff, the food! Although the coffee was not my favorite, I could tell that it was very good coffee for those who like very dark coffee. I could taste a little bit of a nutty flavor which I enjoyed. It was National Coffee Day, so I was offered a free donut. I have two kids at home, so I had to buy an extra donut to take home. Both my kids said they were delicious! Popular or not, I’m a pumpkin person. I especially like it in my baked goods. The entire time in line I knew exactly what I wanted - a Morning Bun-Pumpkin (aka pumpkin cinnamon roll). It was warmed and served on a dish and the most amazing pumpkin item I have ever brought to my taste buds! I can’t emphasize enough how good this was. Luckily, the house I was there to show is now under contract with my client which means I will be going back very soon. If my experience is any indication of the rest of their menu, run (don’t walk) and try this place out if you’re in the area. #trustkj

I’ve been coming here every week for months now, and I love it every time. The atmosphere is always warm and inviting, and the staff is amazing—so friendly and welcoming. I like to ask for a surprise pastry with my coffee, and every single one has been beautifully made and absolutely delicious. You can tell the owner really cares about this place and the experience they create for customers.

It’s clean and the croissant is actually really good. The flow is smooth and it’s Never a long wait. But the coffee low key stinks, it’s never hot always like warm within minutes, and if you get it iced it’s all melted and also like warm within minutes. Two caps and two pastries were 23 so you feel ripped off and disappointed lol but the croissants are genuinely really really good and it’s a great space, but it’s expensive and mediocre. We go back once every few months instead of twin peaks just to see if it was a fluke but after multiple attempts at going Back over the last year I just won’t return. So great for being so mediocre. Just wish they hired baristas instead of teens playing at it, because they have the makings to be number one around.

UPDATE (Aug. 2023): still amazing, but now they have lollipops at the counter for you to take if you order inside. I note they also now have a ‘drivethru’ set up. Love this place. Apart from great coffee and pastries, they even have a GIANT mug with samples of pain relievers (see picture). Asked the lady serving us why they have them on offer and she said “they go well with caffeine”. Note: it was shortly after NYE. I simply thought it was extremely thoughtful.

The baked goods and coffee are absolutely top notch. Delicious coffee and several brew to choose from. What a delightful place. Wish every town had a coffeehouse like this. A happy place.

Love this place, just wish the QR code for the menu wasn't only at the order window. This slows everyone down. If it was posted in multiple spots along the building, people would order faster and have a better experience all around. Thanks for great coffee!
